I'm Here
Well i am here, ready to take on another day of fun at the ole saw mill. You know it is funny some of the things we say that we picked up from our parents or grandparents. I know that i listen to alot of old country music and really like it. I know i picked that up from my grandparents.
I like to listen to blues and soul music, i know i picked that up from my mom. I remember as a little boy trying to go to sleep with James Brown and Aretha Franklin blaring in the background. My mom liked to clean at night after we had went to bed, so she would turn up the tunes on the old record player and get to cleaning. I would holler out of my room and ask her to turn it down so we could go to sleep. I know that sounds funny, the kid telling the mom to turn the music down. I now love listening to those performers. I know as i get older i feel closer to my roots and the things i remember as a young man. I know i miss fishing with my grandpa, and the times we had together.
I guess it is just part of life, we really dont know what we had until it is gone. I was reminded today and a few days ago about how old i am. I mentioned parking to a friend and they cracked up. Told me that parking was old fashioned and when i said that it reminded them of there parents. I guess things do change, and depending on
where and when you grew up. I know i had some good times out "parking" and would still love to do a little parking. I guess making out is the saying these days, but damn i thought that was around in the 50's.
Of course i was not yet around in the 50's so i dont know for sure.
But i do know that growing up on the tail end of the baby boom, i think i can relate to more than just one generation. I know a little about the 60's, more about the 70's and became a man in the 80's.
And where have you commenters been? Cmon leave a comment for me, so i know i am not the only one reading this thing! LOL
Later
Twisted
